For the biological portion of the Power Within project we created paintings that revolved around our personal narratives, with a visible biological connection. We went through a long process to create our pieces, but the hard work was worth it all in the end.

During my summer of freshman to sophomore year I had bottled everything up. My bottle had been so tightly packed, that once it did it flow out, it was like an endless stream. It had made me feel so vulnerable that I allowed these feelings to kill my motivation for art completely. I had killed my power. My power comes from my hands and my ability to create. I’ve focused on the nerves as the nervous system is what allows us to have control over ourselves and our actions. I’ve added nerves constricting my arms and hands as when I attempted to get back to painting, I just physically couldn't move. In place of losing my power I applied myself elsewhere such as crystals and paying attention to their healing properties, as well with the water my hands holding representing not only the medium I worked with; but the feelings that flowed out.
